As Head of Business Line Controlling Road & Intermodal (m/f/d) based in Dormagen, you will have functional and disciplinary responsibility for controlling within the Road & Intermodal business lines, Tank Lease, and the Equipment Service business function. In this role, you report directly to the Head of Group Controlling and, together with your team, help shape an efficient and forward-looking controlling function as a central business partner to the operational units.

Your responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the functional and disciplinary management of the Controlling team for the Road & Intermodal business lines, Tank Lease, and the Equipment Service business function
  • You will be in charge of setting up, developing and managing an integrated performance management framework, including relevant KPIs, profitability analyses and variance analyses
  • You oversee the monthly reporting process, ensuring timely delivery and high quality, and prepare insightful management presentations
  • Acting as a Business Partner, you work closely with Business Line Managers and support them in strategic and operational matters
  • You manage and coordinate forecasting, budgeting, and mid-term planning processes
  • Furthermore, you identify, prioritize, and drive key initiatives to optimize profitability and conduct focused analyses to achieve sustainable performance improvements, working closely with the relevant departments
  • You actively contribute to strategic projects and transformation initiatives, including the implementation of new finance systems and process optimizations
  • In collaboration with the Business Intelligence team, you further develop reporting tools and reporting structures

Your skills

  • You hold at least a successfully completed bachelor’s degree in Finance and Controlling or a comparable qualification
  • You bring several years of experience in Controlling, ideally within a logistics or industrial environment
  • You have already gained leadership experience, either through direct people management or by leading projects with cross-functional teams
  • You demonstrate strong analytical skills and are proficient in Excel as well as common business intelligence tools (e.g. Qlik, Power BI)
  • Thanks to your excellent communication skills, you are able to present complex topics clearly and effectively to different audiences
  • You work in a proactive and solution-oriented manner and are characterized by a high level of personal accountability
  • Your profile is complemented by very good German skills and fluent English skills; Dutch is a plus
  • You are willing to travel regularly
